Clarkson’s Farm: Anti-Slip Decking Gets the Celebrity Seal of Approval

When Jeremy Clarkson says something is “amazing,” you tend to believe him. That’s exactly what happened in Season 4, Episode 6 of Clarkson’s Farm, when our anti-slip decking made an appearance at his pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

The project involved creating a safe, stylish outdoor beer garden area where visitors could enjoy a pint without worrying about slipping – even in the great British weather. Our non-slip decking was the perfect choice, providing a grippy, hard-wearing surface that still looks great. Clarkson summed it up perfectly, saying:

“This is amazing, this stuff.”

“You really can’t fall over, can you?”

Now, Alan did raise an eyebrow at the price, making it sound like it costs twice as much as traditional decking. But here’s the reality: with a 15-year warranty, unbeatable durability, and almost no maintenance costs, our decking actually saves money in the long run. Plus, it keeps customers safer – and that’s priceless.

There was also some grumbling about the number of blades needed to cut it. The trick? Use the right tools and techniques. We’ve even put together a handy guide on how to cut non-slip decking efficiently.

Sustainable, non-slip outdoor flooring from Gripsure

Seeing Gripsure’s products featured on such a popular show was fantastic – not just because of the exposure, but because it proved our point: whether it’s a rural pub garden or your own back garden, anti-slip decking delivers on safety, looks, and longevity. And if it’s good enough for Clarkson, it’s probably good enough for you.

Chelsea Flower Show: Gold Medal Glory with MOSO® Bamboo Beams

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is known for pushing the boundaries of garden design, and this year’s Komorebi Garden was no exception. Designed by the incredibly talented Masa Taniguchi and built by Garden Club London, the garden transported visitors straight to the forests of Nagano, Japan – no passport required.

“Komorebi” is a Japanese word describing the gentle play of sunlight through leaves. And that’s exactly what this garden captured. Surrounded by a canopy of trees, the space was calm, serene, and deeply connected to nature. At the heart of the design was a beautifully crafted wooden platform made from our MOSO® Bamboo beams, supplied by Gripsure.

Why MOSO® Bamboo Beams stole the show

These beams weren’t just chosen for their looks (though the warm, natural tones certainly impressed). They’re incredibly sustainable, made from fast-growing bamboo that’s harder and more durable than many hardwoods. In a setting inspired by the tranquillity of the Japanese forest, it felt fitting to use a material that’s gentle on the planet but strong enough to stand the test of time.

The judges loved it too, awarding the Komorebi Garden the ultimate prize: Gold. For us, it was a proud moment to see sustainable bamboo take centre stage at the world’s most prestigious garden show. It’s proof that eco-friendly materials can be every bit as stylish and luxurious as traditional hardwoods.

Sustainable garden materials from Gripsure

Whether you’re designing a public space, a private garden, or a show-stopping feature for an event, MOSO® Bamboo beams offer a beautiful, hard-wearing, and planet-friendly alternative. Chelsea has spoken – and bamboo is here to stay.

BBC Gardeners’ World: Platinum Award-Winning Garden Showcases MOSO® Bamboo X-treme®

Gripsure Featured on BBC Gardeners' World

If you tuned into BBC Gardeners’ World Live this year, you might have spotted something rather special – a beautiful studio garden designed by Rachel Bailey, featuring our sustainable MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® boards. And not just anywhere… these boards formed a stunning boardwalk and decking area that was the heart of the “Where There’s Water, There’s Life” garden.

Rachel’s design didn’t just wow visitors – it swept the awards table too, picking up Best Show Garden, Best Construction, and the coveted Platinum Award. To top it off, the garden was featured on BBC Two’s Gardeners’ World Live coverage, giving millions of viewers a glimpse of how sustainable materials like bamboo can look breathtaking in a show garden setting.

So why did MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® work so well here?

For starters, it’s not your average decking board. Made from compressed, heat-treated bamboo strips, it’s incredibly durable and naturally resistant to rot and decay – perfect for a garden where water plays a starring role. The rich, deep colour of the boards complemented Rachel’s planting scheme beautifully, creating a seamless connection between the hard landscaping and the lush, wildlife-friendly planting.

From a sustainability point of view, bamboo is a superstar. It’s one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth, capturing huge amounts of carbon during its growth. Every MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® board used in this garden will last for decades, reducing the need for replacement and keeping waste out of landfill. That’s good news for the planet – and for your wallet.

Visitors strolling along the boardwalk commented on the smooth yet non-slip surface, which makes it safe in all weathers – a must for any outdoor space in the UK. Whether it’s a public show garden or your own back garden, that combination of beauty, durability, and slip resistance is a real win.

MOSO® Bamboo X-treme®: the perfect fit for any space

If you’re looking for inspiration on how to use bamboo decking creatively, Rachel’s garden is a perfect case study. It shows that sustainable materials don’t have to compromise on style – they can be the star of the show.
