Gripsure Team Sets Sail with Conrad Humphreys After Completing Bamboo Decking Project

A memorable day aboard Bounty & Hope celebrating sustainability, teamwork and adventure

The Gripsure team recently enjoyed an unforgettable day on the water with renowned yachtsman Conrad Humphreys aboard Bounty & Hope, following the successful installation of our engineered bamboo decking at the charity’s waterside base. The day was an opportunity to celebrate a project we’re incredibly proud to have been involved in while experiencing first-hand the inspiring work carried out by the Bounty & Hope team.

Supporting an inspiring organisation

Earlier this year, Gripsure supplied premium engineered bamboo decking for the Bounty & Hope base, creating a durable, attractive and sustainable outdoor space that will support the charity’s activities for years to come. Designed to withstand the demands of a busy waterfront environment, our bamboo decking offers exceptional durability, low maintenance requirements and a natural aesthetic, making it an ideal solution for projects where both performance and sustainability are essential. We’re delighted to have played a small part in supporting an organisation that is dedicated to changing lives through sailing, education and adventure.

Sailing with Conrad Humphreys

To mark the completion of the project, members of the Gripsure team were invited aboard Bounty & Hope for a day of sailing under the guidance of Conrad Humphreys. Best known for his solo round-the-world racing achievements, leadership in extreme environments and television appearances, Conrad shared his experience, passion and leadership philosophy while taking the team out on the water. The day offered plenty of hands-on sailing, from trimming sails and taking the helm to working together as a crew. It was a fantastic reminder of the importance of communication, trust and teamwork – qualities that are just as valuable in business as they are at sea.

Sustainability in action

The partnership reflects shared values between Gripsure and Bounty & Hope. Both organisations are passionate about creating a positive impact through sustainable thinking, long-term performance and investing in people. Our engineered bamboo products provide a sustainable alternative to traditional hardwoods, combining outstanding durability with a significantly reduced environmental footprint. Seeing the finished installation in use at such an inspiring location reinforced the value of choosing materials that are built to perform while supporting a more sustainable future.

More than just a project

At Gripsure, we believe every project is about more than supplying products. It’s about building relationships, supporting meaningful initiatives and helping create spaces that make a lasting difference. Our day aboard Bounty & Hope was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen those relationships, celebrate a successful collaboration and spend time with an organisation whose work continues to inspire everyone involved.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Conrad Humphreys and the entire Bounty & Hope team for their warm welcome and an incredible day on the water. We look forward to following the charity’s future adventures, and to seeing our bamboo decking continue to provide a lasting foundation for the important work they do.
