Garden Carpentry

Garden Carpentry designed and built an access ramp for wheelchair use at a private residence in Aberystwyth. Timber was chosen for this project as a quicker and cheaper alternative to concrete and is more of a natural fit for the garden environment. The ramp was designed to make sure that turning circles for a wheelchair were easily achievable. With a less than 1:16 ratio along the sloping part of the access platform, it ensured a very easy slope to use a wheelchair along.

To ensure the safety of people walking along the decked ramp access as well as for wheelchair users. Gripsure non-slip decking was chosen to do the job. The durable non-slip inserts work all year round to deliver a good slip resistance and reduce the risk of slips and falls in all weather conditions.
