Jo's 10 year Workversary
2nd July 2018
June saw a workversary for Office manager Jo who celebrated 10 years at Gripsure. Jo joined Gripsure in 2008 dealing with accounts and invoicing. Back then Gripsure was a small team of 5 and the main office where Jo worked was a garden shed overlooking the Cornish coastline in MD Mike's back garden. The then small business quickly grew and was uprooted to bigger purpose-built facilities in Bugle where Gripsure is based today. The company has gone from strength to strength to become the UK's leading supplier of non-slip decking. You can read Jo's full story and meet the rest of the team here.

Major expansion for Gripsure
8th November 2017
To meet growing demand from UK and international customers we have expanded our production space.
We have created a new production facility that is one-and-a-half times the size of our previous space at our premises at Rockhill Business Park in Bugle. Expanding into premises next door and redesigning the space has enabled us to improve our productivity and efficiency.
The expansion has also created more office space to accommodate the growing team and additional storage. This means we can now hold more timber decking boards in stock and respond more quickly to orders.
The expansion has been completed following a 25 per cent turnover increase over the last 12 months. This year we have doubled our production team and have secured a number of major national contracts.
Gripsure Managing Director Mike Nicholson said: “We are increasingly handling bigger orders for large customers so expanding our production space was essential. Growing and redesigning our space will help ensure we are as productive as possible and can continue to deliver outstanding customer service.
“This has been a really excellent year for Gripsure. As well as working with some of the UK’s leading household names such as Jewson, Homebase and Travis Perkins, we are growing our exports and are now supplying some of Europe’s leading builders and timber merchants.”
Gripsure summer team away day
16th June 2017
Gripsure’s first summer team day began with bacon butties at St Austell conference centre and finished with a hair-raising 15 lap F1 race.
The day featured a review of the highlights of the year to date, including the continued development into European sales, customer service, the website and production processes with three new starters. The team also examined the opportunities and challenges Gripsure will face in the next 12 months across all areas of the business.
The whole team headed to St Eval Karting circuit for the Gripsure Grand Prix. There was some healthy competition among the racers with Dean from the production team taking 3rd place, Charlie from the sales team coming in 2nd and Jed from the production team winning 1st place. A thought provoking day ended with a bit of fun and team bonding on the race track.
Gripsure expands to meet demand
19th April 2017
We have doubled our production team to meet growing demand for our non slip timber decking.
New to the team is Dean Gosling who has been appointed as production supervisor, along with Andris Klebahs as a production operative and Kevin Davis as a production assistant. Jed Brokenshire has been promoted to production manager.
Our expansion is the result of increased sales through Homebase and leading timber and builders merchants, as well as to architects and contractors. In the last 12 months Gripsure has supplied anti slip decking to a growing number of high profile customers including Go Ape, De Vere Hotels, Kew Gardens and Centre Parcs. We are also extending our global reach, with an expanding customer base in Sweden, France and Ireland.
Mike Nicholson Gripsure’s Managing Director said: “We have expanded our production team to keep up with demand and to ensure we are well placed for future growth.
“This is a very exciting time for Gripsure. Our decking is now available in 160 Homebase stores across the UK and we have secured a number of new contracts with merchants. Meanwhile, our reputation is growing among architects and contractors and we are continuing to win contracts with schools, hotels and visitor attractions. While the UK market remains very strong our ambition is global and we are expanding in Europe. The new recruits will help ensure we maintain the highest levels of service and quality as we grow the business.”
