Sustainability

Double ISO Accreditation

Quality and environmental sustainability are the two values that Gripsure is absolutely committed to.

We are delighted to have been awarded ISO 9001, for quality management systems, and ISO 14001, for environmental management.

Whereas we have always been passionate about consistently delivering the highest quality products and service to our customers, in recent years, we have also taken great steps towards environmental sustainability. From working with sustainable FSC and PEFC certified timber to reducing waste, we have now taken this a step further by signing up to a commitment of becoming a net zero carbon business.

FSC® and PEFC

Working in an ethical and sustainable way for the long-term benefit of the environment is at the heart of everything we do. And that starts with purchasing timber that is sourced from sustainable forests. It’s why all our timber is certified under the industry flagship standards of FSC and PEFC.

Both PEFC and FSC are committed to achieving the same objective: the certification of forests to credible, independently, verified standards of responsible forest management. The two certification schemes operate a chain of custody process that trace materials through the supply chain from the forest to the end-user.

In addition to this, we produce non-slip deck boards using new and exciting materials such as bamboo, Accoya® and Kebony, which are sustainable alternatives to tropical hardwoods.

Gripsure’s Global Forest

At Gripsure, we’re also proud to be running a carbon neutral website. Did you know that the average website produces 4700 pounds of CO2 every year? That’s the same as driving a modern car for more than 5000 miles!

With a helping hand from our friends at Tree-Nation we’re offsetting this carbon by planting trees around the globe, making our website officially carbon neutral whilst extending a positive impact to all four corners of the world!

We’re Making a Difference in Other Ways Too!

Every day we work hard to reuse and reduce any waste from the business. Whilst all our paper, plastic and timber wastage is recycled, we also collaborate with local craftsmen who innovatively up-cycle our decking offcuts into beautiful and unique products. One of our favourites is the bird boxes that are sold for charity.
