The Lamb's

Residential Decking

Bamboo has brought a modern look to a much-loved garden in Cornwall. Richard Lamb ordered 123 of Gripsure’s MOSO® Bamboo X-treme®1.85m boards to create a path and decked terrace area outside his home near St Austell. The contemporary, eco-friendly product has been used to replace some existing 14-year-old decking in Mr Lamb’s back garden.

MOSO® Bamboo decking is a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwoods and composite products, boasting best in its class for its environmental credentials, strength, stability, and longevity, while achieving a Euroclass-B fire rating without the need for external treatment. Gripsure is pleased to be the UK’s exclusive distributor of MOSO® Bamboo.

Mr Lamb, who served with Royal Air Force for 29 years, said he ordered some samples of Gripsure’s bamboo decking by chance.

We were driving past Bugle where Gripsure is based and I remembered that many years ago, I contacted them about some decking for my mother,” said Mr Lamb, adding that he had been pleased with the product back then and thought he’d call in to ask about some boards for his home. “We collected some samples and chose bamboo because we liked the look, colour and feel of it.”

  • The product has worked well and Gripsure’s customer service has been very, very good. We’re certainly very pleased.

This particular profile chosen does not have Gripsure’s non-slip inserts. Gripsure’s low maintenance MOSO® Bamboo decking is easy to install and has a hidden fixing system, as well as an expected service life of up to 50 years. “The builder who put the decking together for us said it was the best material he’d worked with,” said Mr Lamb. “He was happy with it and so are we. It was fitted quite quickly and put together very well.

The pathway and the terrace area provide a great-looking and practical addition to the garden, allowing plenty of outdoor dining in a sheltered spot. Mr Lamb has travelled with his career but has owned his house in St Austell since 1984. He enjoys spending time in his garden, which has now been given a new lease of life.
